Description

Seven days, seven colors.  Now for... ugh... Yellow.  I dislike yellow with a fervor.

I understand what it means.  It can be a happy, warm color.  I loved the King in Yellow as a staple of weird horror, and almost drew that.  But yellow, I never liked.  There are a lot of cases where orange or white or green can do it's job in a piece.  But despite my own tastes, it can work in pieces.  Still...

Key to why I despise yellow is that it's the color of exclusion.  A medieval, western practice: heretics were forced to wear yellow to show who they were.  It was associated with Judas Iscariot.  Nazis used it for Jews in concentration camps.  Yellow.  There is a part of my brain that remembers that association when I use yellow.  It carries the capacity for a very dark connotation. 

Been doing a bit of challenge for myself this week, seven pieces in seven colors.  Here's red and orange:
